All,
Hi Again!!!

Well the coral branches arrived and the red branches are great. There are some unique burn-orange colored ones. I was quite taken with the color on these. There was a couple of single strands with the order.

One of these is a strand of China white turquoise (Magnesite). This strand is the largest blue nuggets I think I have ever seen in this shape. They are the more rugged shaped nuggets, well polished.

There is also 2 strands of white coral. They are nice and clean looking. Crisp white in color. There is a strand of large barrels and a strand of large facet coins. With this shipment we received a nice assortment of pewter spacers. Mom will be putting these out this next week.

I am adding most important information to the blog. Go ahead into the blog and see what you think. Sign up so I can have someone to talk to! We had a set of visitors yesterday that were just great to talk to! They are from the Quincy area. He is also a website stumbler like myself. And she has a great since of color. I invited them down on a Saturday to bead. Just in case you didn't know Saturdays are for help and fun. I would love to see full tables and sharing of informations on Saturdays. I can help people but I can not know everything so come on down and do some beading down to the store. You might find someone needs your wisdom also. :) !!!

Well if you look above you will see a different header. As usual this will probably not be the final draft. Just kinda having fun. The blog is also new. I tried a couple of different blogs and this is the style I have chosen. The way it is indexed makes it easier to figure out where the information you want is located. I am trying to figure out how to get the blogging information in the space I am writing in. When I figure this out you will find the blog here but for right now the blog is under the button labeled blog above.

As you can tell by the mess above me , I am in the  process of making another mess. I am  trying to put my links above this article. This should make it easier to navigate around the website.
Other than that... We went to the gem show in Seattle this weekend. There were very few booths. We were very disappointed. The sale is doing great but we still need to thin out more stock so "The sale goes on".

Mom finally managed to get sick. She got a cold and lost a day (Tuesday). She says she is feeling better, we shall see.

Suggestion of the day... Your crimp or knot doesn't have to go right next to the finding. You can put it a bead or two away. This helps the crimp to blend in better and if you are putting on a crimp cover it can be easier. You need to remember the loop the finding is attached with needs to have a little slack, not great gobs and wads but a nice little loop.

People bring me many things to look at and figure out how to fix. Some times the fixes are so cool that I would like to share them. If I can get some pic's I will. But for now I will just write them for you.

Yesterday a lady brought me a necklace with a chain with large loops. The loops were in the shape of a rice. Each loop is greater than 1/2" in length.  She says the loops just let go and the necklace just falls off. Well the chain, when worn, always has the same point of contact so the loops have worn in two in some of the spots that are rubbing. This is similar to the magic loops that magically slip together and slip apart.

The problem is two fold...

1) The metal (silver I think) is to soft.

2) Because of the shape the rings always rub in the same spot.

So you can use a harder silver or reinforce the points of contact with a hard solder. You could also use a different shape. For this project we have decided to replace the chain with a round looped shape. I personally believe that a better metal in the beginning would have solved this problem. If you are buying chain for a project, check the chain for hardness and try for a chain that the soldered loop.

Well I gave it the old college try and got hacked. If you tried to get into this website and got a girlie website. Sorry about that.
So I will try again and see where we get redirected this time.

If there is a redirect, again I am sorry.

As you can see above I gave it the old collage try. To bad I went to the wrong collage. Right. I got the forms on the bar as I wanted but the calendar will not play nice. I will continue to work with it.

I am going to try yet another idea. I am going to try to integrate a calendar into the website. This calendar will depend on you as well as myself to make it work. I would like to get information on gem shows in the area and maybe opportunities to sell items (bazaars and such).

One of these days I will learn to use a blog. But until than I will change the color of each new writing. Well I am at it again. I just installed a new form. Could you, if you have time, fill it out so I can see if it works? Just say hi or better yet give me something to add to this page or even better, little advise or ideas would also be appreciated.

We have been having fun with our new products. They all have nice new tags and look real nice. The colors are fab.

Some of our spring stock has arrived and mom is working hard to get all of it out. As you can guess this is quite an endeavor.
In the mean time we have, again, decide to clear out some of the older stock. This is a good thing for you.
If you can find a temporarily strung strand that you like and the tag has a date from 2007 or before...30% off.
Also loose pearl strands & loose fire-polished strands are 20% off
Pendants that are on a card and have a price tag with a date before 2007 are 30% off.

The sale is going well and will continue until at-least the end of the month. I can not stress enough, how much you can save at these prices. All prices are going up and 30% off is a great price.
We have so many new items to put out at the store but can not put all of them out until we have some more room.

On another note. The Doc, that's me, has needs too. I need to find a gardener to do some weeding at the store. I need a carpenter to build some more of the turning displays for the store. We have made all the displays in the past but do not have the time right now and need them yesterday. I am also looking for an old, spring type, cigarette sign. Last year someone stole the sign at the lower corner of the store. I really want to replace it but can not afford $4-500 each time someone decides it is to cute to resist. The older cig signs are heavy and not quite as cute as those sandwich board type sighs.

I have been learning to repair jewelry with missing rhinestones. The pieces I have been repairing have the glued in stones not the prong set ones. This means that in the summer I should be taking in repairs of some jewelry with missing rhinestones.

Have yourselves a great day!
